The Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for the 12-month Internship Programme 2025, a part of the National Youth Service (NYS). This programme, managed by the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement (SASTA) under the National Research Foundation (NRF), offers unemployed graduates under 35 years old the opportunity to gain work experience at partner institutions while receiving a monthly stipend.

While the primary focus is on graduates in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), there are occasionally opportunities for graduates in other fields, depending on the recruitment process.

Requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in fields such as:

  • Strong communication, organisational, writing, and/or media skills
  • Good analytical and interpersonal skills
